What is my diamond worth?
This will depend on a variety of factors including:
- The quality of the stone: color grade, cut grade, clarity grade, fluorescence, polish etc. There is a wide range of criteria that determines the quality of a diamond.
- Shape: Some diamond shapes are more popular than others. Round diamonds are universally considered the most popular shape, followed by princess cut. In recent years there has been an increase in demand for oval and emerald shape diamonds.
- Certification: Does you diamond have a diamond certificate? Certificates from reputable diamond grading laboratories, such as the GIA, can add value to your stone.
